A 33-minute film featuring Dr. Dobri Kiprov, Dr. Michael Roizen, and real patients whose lives have been transformed by therapeutic plasma exchange.
In 2007, Dr. Kiprov learned about parabiosis experiments at Stanford University, research that connected the circulatory systems of a young mouse and an old mouse with remarkable results. The old mouse became younger. The initial excitement centered on young blood as a rejuvenation tool, but Dr. Kiprov recognized the real insight: it wasn't that young blood heals, it's that old plasma contains harmful inflammatory molecules that accumulate with age. Removing them is the key. This led to his published hypothesis that therapeutic plasma exchange could serve as a safe human model of parabiosis, without the serious risks of young blood transfusions, risks the FDA ultimately addressed by shutting down young blood clinics after adverse events, including deaths.
The documentary features the AMBAR trial (Alzheimer Management By Albumin Replacement), a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study that showed therapeutic plasma exchange slowed cognitive and functional decline in Alzheimer's patients. In the mild Alzheimer's subgroup, some patients showed measurable improvement. Dr. Michael Roizen, Cleveland Clinic's Chief Wellness Officer Emeritus, describes TPE as the only treatment he's seen reverse cognitive dysfunction in Alzheimer's.
The heart of the film is four patients sharing their firsthand experiences. John Mauldin, co-founder of Mauldin Economics, noticed cognitive decline at 74 and describes significant restoration after TPE at Dr. Kiprov's Mill Valley clinic. Robert Khan shares the story of his 87-year-old father Habib, who had lived with dementia for a decade; after just two rounds of TPE over three days, his personality, coordination, and independence returned. Richard Graham, a retired car dealer diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's biomarkers, says after two years of TPE he's never felt better. And Song Shriber, a biotech executive, saw chronic pain, migraines, hives, and thyroid dysfunction resolve after five TPE treatments, and hasn't needed to return in over two years.
Dr. Kiprov pioneered the use of therapeutic plasma exchange for aging and longevity, publishing the original hypothesis in 2012 that TPE could serve as a safe human model of parabiosis and serving as a lead clinical investigator on the studies that validated it. A Harvard Medical School alumnus with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and more than 15,000 treatments overseen, he was the first physician to publish on TPE's effects on biological aging. He founded Global Apheresis in Mill Valley, California.

Therapeutic plasma exchange is an FDA-cleared procedure that removes inflammatory proteins, damaged molecules, and metabolic waste from blood plasma and replaces it with clean albumin solution. Each session takes approximately 2–3 hours. At Global Apheresis in Mill Valley, California, all treatments are overseen by Dr. Kiprov and Dr. Allen Green, M.D., in a clinical setting designed for comfort and safety.
